Red Cross Aruba in San Nicolas with “Bread & Soup” project

On Sunday, April 2, 2017, Red Cross Aruba held its first “Bread & Soup” activity for 2017. This project has been organized for many years in the neighborhoods of Aruba. In the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the organization, it was organized differently in April. A central location was chosen to receive the less fortunate with some food, haircuts and clothing. The YMCA in San Nicolas was the perfect location for this activity and was well visited. The sales of the Charity Bazaar held monthly at the Red Cross, makes these activities possible.

On this day Red Cross Aruba distributed: 375 cups of soup and bread, 150 hotdogs and 500 cups of juice. There was also a portable shower where the homeless could shower and they received clean clothing.

At the end of the morning, all leftover soup and sandwiches was brought to halfway houses, Centro Colorado and the homeless.
